O hotel tem um bom custo benefício. Porém, tive a oportunidade de ficar em dois quartos, sendo um deles sem janela. Isso me decepcionou, no entanto o restante da estadia foi boa, com um bom atendimento da equpe do hotel. O café da manhã é britânico, com muita comida gordurosa e poucas opções, o que pode ser problema para algumas pessoas. Os quartos são bem limpos e a vista do hotel é muito bonita.
Was not what I expected
Spent the weekend at the Royal Scarborough hotel. Looks quite nice on the picture, but in reality desperately needs some urgent TLC. The restaurant staff were nice and food was ok. The bar was awful. Glasses unclean and one poor woman working behind the bar trying to deal with the huge queues. Bless her she was trying to keep up with demand. The room was very basic and in need of some modernisation, but to be fair clean. Would I stay here again? I don’t think so, the hotel didn’t spoil my weekend but if your planning on staying longer than 1-2 nights I would advise finding somewhere else.
3 hours to check in. Absolute waste of a trip
At 3pm we arrived, being met with a huge line outside the hotel. Decided to come back 30 mins later and it was worse!! So joined the dreaded queue. 3 hours later, we finally get to our room. 2.5 hours queuing outside, thankfully it wasn't raining!!!! The check is desk runs so slow, too many guests to cope with. When speaking to the General Manager, yes he apologised but wasn't interested in listening, in fact was rude and abrupt. His resolve to this was, what I like to cancel my booking, after I had stood in the queue for 2.5 hours at this point, just wow. I witnessed other guests being spoken to poorly as well. Very poor customer service. And yes the building standard is poor. Such as shame as people have recommended The Grand, its iconic on the shore line of this resort. Needs huge investment.
Stayed at the grand Scarborough on 10th July for a night never again qued for 40 mins for room key got to room it hadn't been serviced went to complain explained it was my birthday treat waited another 20 mins for room to be done I payed for a family room double bed and 2 single beds one of the single beds was a camp bed on the double it was like sleeping on a bed of springs never again will be go to that dump
Dirty hotel that can’t have seen a duster or hoover for a substantial amount of time. Unacceptable at the best of times, even more so during covid 19 precautions. Rude general manager who obviously is unable to maintain standards or deal with complaints. Don’t spoil your time and even book here. How the place is still trading is beyond me. To have two receptionists operating for the size of the hotel is not adequate either. Line of people checking in to the hotel were outside of the hotel for at least four hours. Why so many people even chose to stay the night is beyond me. We checked out and sought a room elsewhere.
