Perfect location on the lake

Avaliou em 2 de setembro de 2022

We’ve had a really lovely stay. We had a bungalow right by the lake which was the perfect location. The bungalow is small but had all the space we needed with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and the air conditioning was great in the heat! Swimming pool area is large with plenty of sun loumgers, restaurant and bar are both great!

The village is a nice area to spend time relax with family especially with kids. Pool area is very good and kids pool is with water slide. We had a 4 person bungalow. It needs refurbishment. You have to rent kettle, and pay for towels and bed linen. Altough we knew about it, still I believe that these should be included in the price considering the price of the stay. Also you have to pay extra for cleaning of the room. Market has a variety things, pizza at the restaurant is very good. We really enjoyed staying out in the terrace in the evening.

I really don’t know where to start with this accommodation. As a family we have stayed in a lot of different types of accommodation and reviewed them here on Tripadvisor. This accommodation is one that you should really research before booking. We had looked at it extensively but were viewing some of the updated bungalows which we unfortunately weren’t allocated. Positives - excellent pools. Very clean and lots of sun loungers. Very strict though - no food/drink allowed even from pool bar and swim caps must be worn. The pool bar is also very good - good selection of snacks/drinks etc. The guy who runs it is brilliant - really friendly and so accommodating. My daughter loved their margarita pizza! The bar at the lake is also excellent - Alessandro and Gabriella are lots of fun and work very well together in the bar. The guys in the kids club are also full of energy and do loads for younger kids. Access to the lake is also great - there was a superb pool bar/restaurant about a 10/15 min walk along the lake from the resort. Amazing steaks but making a reservation is advisable. Negatives - some of the accommodation and I really mean some as their are bungalows/mobile homes which are beautiful but unfortunately we were placed in Area 16 and the bungalow to be honest was awful. Needed a complete refurbishment and until that happens I honestly don’t believe it should be used for guests. The review on here about running as fast as you can perfectly describes area 16. The decor was non existent and the space felt cramped and clostraphobic. The bunk beds the children had to sleep on didn’t feel safe - squeaked every time they moved slightly on them and the ladder couldn’t be safely secured for getting onto the top bed because it was broken. We spoke to the tour rep the next day and to reception because we couldn’t stay another night in that accommodation. It was making us miserable on our holiday. Even one of their staff told us area 16 was the worst accommodation. We viewed three other bungalows and paid to be upgraded to a bungalow in area 11. Such an improvement - the freshness, cleanliness and just general updated kitchen, bathroom etc was no comparison to the previous place. No kettle, toaster or cereal bowls were provided in the accommodation. In this new bungalow we did however have an incident were water leaked through the roof and onto our bed at 2.30am in the morning. We got no sleep that night because we had to put a bucket on one side of the bed to catch the water. There was heavy rain but you would expect your accommodation to be maintained/built sufficiently so that you could sleep without rain coming through the roof and onto your bed while you slept! Anyway, a few other things - you have to pay for bed linen and towels and make your own beds when you arrive. Very inconvenient carrying all this along with your luggage to your accommodation and in the heat. Guests also pay a cleaning charge of 25euro and a tourist charge of 8 euro per person at the end of your stay. Surely these extras should be included in the price of the overall holiday. Lastly, the resort is not walking distance to old town Sirimione - you have a 20 min walk to get to the nearest bus stop that will take you to the castle etc for 1 euro. Runs every 20 mins.

Almost perfect - but the restaurant lets it down

We stayed (myself, wife and teenage daughter) in a Deluxe mobile home and it was excellent - huge deck out the front to sit and enjoy some wine in the evening. A good kitchen area with utensils etc. and very good air-conditioning. I would definitely ask for one at the end of a row, which means you're not overlooked by the other homes which are very close by and you could be on your deck facing the toilet window of the home beside you! The camp's location beside the lake is fantastic and although only a small beach area for sitting on the lake itself is so close you could walk there, swim and walk back to your home in a few minutes. The pools are really excellent and spotlessly clean (swim hats required) and the people bar service and food is very good. Night time entertainment was very poor unless you are less than 6yrs old and some of the 'comedy' skits the enthusiastic staff put on were honestly kinda racist! One prolonged sketch about a 'Japanese' man attempting suicide with a sword only to be constantly interrupted by a maid cleaning the floor was jaw-dropping. The 'dialogue' was all like 'ting tong ting...bing bing bong' and similar another night with a sketch on 'different nationalities meeting each other' - really awful stereotypes and not at all funny. This all in front of very young kids. Clientele are mainly German and Italian and they were very respectful, quiet and never a problem with loud music or anything - a very pleasant experience. HOWEVER! Our worst experiences on this occasion revolved around the restaurant by the lake - it was absolutely DREADFUL during our stay. It made Fawlty Towers look like the Ritz. We ate there on at least 10 occasions over the two weeks (no other options on site in the evening) and had an issue on every single one of those nights. Chicken schnitzel fillet for my wife was raw and had to be returned. Fish platter for me was undercooked and some fish was raw. Sometimes bread provided when you sit down, sometimes not. Sometimes cutlery, sometimes not! The pizza is absolutely delicious, but the biggest issue by far was the service. Every single time we ate there the waiters brought the wrong food to us and others. There seems to be no system of table numbers or if there is it is completely unknown to the wait staff. Our food was brought to a table beside us and they took the food because they'd been waiting so long! Then their actual food arrived and they sent it back to total confusion amongst the staff. Not one time we ate there did our food arrive together - one of us was always completely finished eating by the time the other person's food arrived. One Italian father with his young son beside us one evening had finished his entire meal and nothing came for his son - he was very upset. On several occasions the wrong food was brought to our table not just once but several times - customers spend their time watching to see if this might be their food coming out or where it's being brought to. Young waiters and waitresses spend their time bringing food to a table, being told it's wrong and then walking around looking for who it might be for. One night, after several mix ups and delays I went to pay and checked the bill to find I was being charged twice for certain items and also for something that we didn't even receive (though we had ordered it) - it was all sorted with many apologies but it really was a complete shambles. If it wasn't for the restaurant the place would be 5 stars from us, however because of it being so bad we would not return.

We stayed in a bungalow near the lake. Great position. Nice clean village. Rooms very clean. The only issue is the walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbours pressing a light switch, on the toilet, in the shower. The restaurants and entertainment area were near our bungalow but the noise didn't carry and everything finished early enough anyway. Any issues with rooms and once reported seems to be dealt with immediately. You can rent a bike from behind reception. There is a shop on site selling fresh bread rolls, croissants and the usual. Swimming pool clean. You have to wear a swim hat, not a bad idea, at least no long hairs in the pool. Good pool bar, food ok. Lots of sun beds but people do go up when pool opens at 9am to put towels on best beds and don't turn up until lunch time, this is unfair but no one seems to bother. There are plenty of beds but some are the uncomfortable white plastic ones, the woven ones get saved first, they are quite comfortable. Site is as described. It's about a 45 min comfortable walk into the old town via the marina and about 20 min walk to the centre where the restaurants are and the main bus stop.If you are going to rent a car, arrange one to pick up at the airport. Most of the restaurants charged a levi of 2-2.50 Euro per person on top of your meal so be prepared.
