Great hotel
Our party comprised of 14 golfers who had booked 2 nights accommodation at the hotel, upon arrival we were all promptly allocated single rooms, advised of the Covid restrictions and that the bar would be closed by 10pm. Room adequate for my short stay, the choice for breakfast was excellent with hot and cold options all professionally served by Michael who is an asset to the business. Normally we would dine at a local restaurant but with these Covid restrictions we ate in the restaurant for our 2 night duration. What a very pleasant surprise with the menu selection, it was amazing, fish, steaks, salads anything you wanted and again all served by very accommodating staff. I had the chritzo starter followed by the Lamb first night absolutely beautiful followed by the rack of ribs on the second evening both fantastic flavoursome - compliments to the chef for the great selection of food. Apologies but forgot the bar staff name great guy, nothing too much trouble which was a challenge keeping 14 guys topped up with drink, well done. Great stay, give it a try
A Couple of Nights Away
A very friendly place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped, quiet but a bit small. Breakfast was a full English, which was cooked to order, lunch was from a good menu and very pleasant. The evening meals we had were excellent, with plenty of choice Overall the hotel was cosy, warm, with a nice real fire in the bar. Plenty of car parking.
Not bad at all...
Stayed at the BestWestern Vine in Skegness for a night in October. It’s a lovely old building set in substantial grounds. Good and plentiful parking, easy check in and friendly staff. The room we had was not large but was clean and adequate. The bed seemed slightly smaller than a standard double but was comfortable. Well set up in terms of Covid restrictions. Hotel was very quiet apart from the creaky floors, as you’d expect in a period building. We paid £70 (breakfast not included) for the night which on balance was slightly pricey. A couple of irritants, no hairdryer in the room, very leaky kettle and a sticky lock on the room door but nothing insurmountable. Overall a nice, clean hotel which feels surprisingly rural given that it’s only half a mile away from the Skegness attractions.
Super Skegness Location.
We recently spent a week ( 7 nights ) at this lovely Hotel, which has a wonderful location - about 10/15 minutes walk from the main Town facilities. Easy to find & set in a lots of space, parking is easy and there's lots of it. The Staff were all really friendly & the lady on Reception ( I think called Glynis ) was exceptional and a real credit to Best Western. We stayed in Room 1, which was huge & benefitted from a view down the main drive. Food was excellent at Breakfast, although something other than variations of a " full english " would have been beneficial. We stayed in for Dinner a couple of times also & the food was great - although Vegetarian options were slightly limited. There was no Vegetarian option for Sunday Dinner for example - unusual, for an establishment of this quality. Our Room had a small sofa, set in front of the TV and a couple of large built in storage cupboards. There's loads to do nearby - Gibralter Point is a short drive or a 30/40 minute walk and a Tesco Superstore is only a short walk. There's a couple of really nice footpaths that go from the Hotel to Town - which means you can avoid most of the traffic as well. We had a thoroughly grand time & would not hestitate to visit again - even the beers in the Bar were Batemans excellent ( local ) ales. Top Class - especially in these strangely " Socially Distanced " times that we all currently live in.
Night of 10pm lockdown
Lovely evening.staff were thoughtful, hardworking and the food was brilliant. All safety measures were observed All people including locals, quite rightly, were asked to leave on time. Thanks all for great service, food , and showing that everyone can still have a lovely time whilst sticking to the new rules.
