No hot water for days, no options offered that were reasonable

Checked in Tuesday afternoon - no hot water until late Thursday evening. Was given a room key to go to another room to shower on Thursday morning - had to haul my shower supplies, etc down five floors and then go back to my room. Friday morning my toilet stopped up and wouldn't flush about 7:00 am - still stopped up when I checked out about noon. When I checked in on Tuesday there was mensural blood on the toilet in my bathroom, I left the request maid service on door and when I returned that afternoon about 4:00, my room STILL wasn't cleaned. I called the front desk, they offered to have towels sent up - no room cleaning. 4 hours later still no towels. Called again and towels were brought up.

I was here for a conference. The conference staff were beyond amazing. The hotel had water problems and had shut off hot water supple to many floors. I had no hot water to my room for 2 of the 3 days I was staying there. I received no update from hotel staff about the issue and was told since my company was paying for the stay, there was no need to refund the stay. A colleague was told if she didn't like no having hot water she could check out. The building is tall, so it sways in the wind, but it also creaks very loudly. Loud enough, that I was unable to drown out the noise at night. My room was clean but could use some updates.

The staff was very friendly. However, my guest room was not properly cleaned after previous tenant: hair on bathroom walls, coins/small bits of trash on floor, and spill residue from drinks on dresser. I slept on dirty sheets for two nights before realizing someone had already slept on the opposite side of my bed (ICK!). I did not have running hot water Tuesday through Thursday afternoon.

Most of the hotel rooms for conference guest did not have hot water. Mine was one of them. Imagine going to a professional conference and not being able to shower. The staff tried to help but offering empty rooms for guest to shower in, but that isn't really practical or feasible.

Worst stay for the money

I have only used my Club Timeshare 3 times since purchasing 10 months ago. The first two stays were great . One was clear water beach and the other was an RCI in florida. The last one was an RCI is Springfield, Illinois. It was a nightmare !! Started at check in and still not over . We needed a handicap room due to the reason we were there to begin with. Medical reasons. ALL night and day we heard the 3 elevators maneuvering through the floors from the time we got there until the time we left . We had to turn up the TV to drown out the noise. The Refrigerator did not work. They brought another one but it froze up everything. We had no washcloths and only 3 towels in the room to Start with 4 guests accompanying the room on reservation made 4 months prior. It was not clean either . The common areas were much better than the individual rooms . The toilet lid wasn’t attached, the first morning there was no hot water. We had to go to the desk to retrieve toiletry items as we waited for the staff to bring them but that didn’t happen. There were no trash bags in trash cans and housekeeping was to pick up trash and towels from outside the room daily. That didn’t happen. We stayed for 4 days , and 4 days of trash and towels were piled up outside our door the day we checked out. Upon checkout, they said that we owed $$ for the room . I had clearly reserved the room through Wyndham in December for the dates needed in March. Wyndham had removed my points to utilize them for this stay. The hotel had no record of this so I had to pay for the room. Basically, I paid twice. Once in cash and once with points for the same stay . Wyndham confirmed the reservation 3 times before my stay and so did the RCI hotel. Unfortunately, someone dropped the ball and upon check out I got screwed!!! I’m not happy about this and Wydham says they don’t owe me a reimbursement but the hotel does and the hotel says just the opposite… 🤬. I will never stay there again. I would have left the first night but time would not allow it with the reason I was there to begin with. Terrible experience with Wyndham and the RCI affiliated with them. The Springfield City Centre located 700 E. Adams in Springfield, Illinois will not see me again, that’s for sure. Just passing on the experience so others can avoid the hassle.
