Hotel típico Inglês

Dunston Hall foi um lindo hotel ! Zona muito tranquila no meio do campo Inglês . A área da piscina foi absolutamente fantástica! O quarto tinha todas as comodidades necessárias .Eu estava lá para uma conferência de trabalho e todos pareciam adorar o lugar !

Run down hotel

Avaliou em 26 de outubro de 2021

We booked a last minute break for half term and to be honest I wish I hadn't wasted my money. The hotel is not 4 star at all. The room was dark, dusty and hadn't been cleaned recently. Stains on the toilet and bath and the floor was covered in dust. We opened the window to try and get rid of the musty smell. The glasses in the room were filthy! Just not acceptable for this hotel which used to be so nice. We headed to the bar for a drink and waited for twenty minutes to be served, the bar wasn't busy, the staff were just ridiculously slow and under trained! Dinner was booked for 7.45, we ordered our starters and complained twice about the wait. At 9pm they finally arrived which were sent straight back - the meatballs were cold and the bread was stale plain bread not the advertised tomato foccacia. We recieved our mains within 15 minutes but the two steaks were shocking and not cooked as requested. The staff were all young and couldn't cope with the amount of people in the dining area. £94 for two adults and two children with only one round of drinks! Massively over priced for the quality of food! They had not charged us for the starters! All in all a very tired run down hotel. You would be better off staying at a Premier Inn where you know what you are going to expect and a much lower price bracket. We have stayed here twice before but will never return!

Lovely stay with 2 kids

Avaliou em 26 de outubro de 2021

I only booked 1 nights given the mixed reviews. Frankly I wish I have stayed her longer as the Stoke By Nayland hotel we went to next was twice the price and a total shambles. The hotel is an old hall. The accommodation wings / spa etc are connected to the hotel by underground walkways - which is a bit odd to begin with! I as with my son age 11 and daughter 14. The room was nice, 2 double beds and comfortable. Little bit tired round the edges but only if you were looking for it. Restaurant nice. Not cheap ( £110 for dinner ) but excellent food. There has been comment that there is only a carvery. That may have bene the case but it is now a normal menu and no carvery in site The pool is amazing! It is huge with a large shallow area for kids and a Jacuzzi, The only ciritisim is if you call they dont answer the phone. You are put in a never ending queue ( there can't be that many callers) and told to "enjoy the music" which is red rag to a bull. The last thing I want to do is "enjoy the music" I want to talk to a human!

Fabulous golf break with our dog

Avaliou em 21 de outubro de 2021

Wendy and Rachel greeted us (and our dog) at reception like long lost friends and from that moment on we really enjoyed every aspect of our four night break. The staff were uniformly welcoming, helpful and polite. The buffet breakfasts were consistently very good and both the carvery and à la carte dinners top notch! Very rare to find a hotel so dog friendly with a golf course which also welcomed our four legged friends. The room we had was comfortable, clean and well-maintained. Two rounds of golf on a great course and a wonderful day in Norwich, a few minutes away only, gave us a near perfect break. Thank you all at Dunston Hall. We’d love to come back in the spring.
