Very Good News and Some "Other" Not So Good

The property is clean, comfortable and convenient. Above average for a HIE . Our review would be higher if it were not for the experience we had checking in where the employee insisted, to the point of being rude, our reservation was for one room only when the confirmation clearly indicated two rooms. This careless and very avoidable incident delayed our check in as well as the couple traveling with us and others waiting in line. In addition we had requested rooms away from the elevator. Our room was directly adjacent.

Great experience! The room was nice and clean. The service desk personnel nice, polite, helpful. Explained in details points of interest and how to get there. Good internet service. Big tasty breakfast. Thank you.

Non-response to kid noise on vacation stay

Do not book at this hotel. Management was responsive to appliances not working in room, but NOT to guests who caused by extremely loud and disruptive to other guests past and before quiet hours on their sign. Children should not be allowed to stay with non-responsible parents on a third-floor motel/hotel room. Awful experience

Where do I begin!!! The first disappointment was the pool, it was not heated therefore we could not use it. The pool temp had to be 76 degrees, cold as lake water. Some of the employees were friendly, some not. The housekeeping people did a nice job at keeping our room clean each day. The a/c was very noisy, we had to turn it off. Our beds were very hard and not at all comfortable. We had a walk it shower but you better wear some swim shoes because the floor gets very slippery. The hand-held shower has very low water pressure. The breakfast was nice. Good selection of hot and cold food and it was very clean. The hotel is a little run down. I know it isn't that old. Trash containers were overflowing outside. The hallways looked like they were not vacuumed. The parking for handicapped people is lacking. We came back at 9:15 pm and had no parking place. The hotel allows the Fireside Tavern patrons to park at the hotel thus we had no place to park. My friend is handicapped so I left her off at the main door and had to put the car way out where the trucks parked. I won't be staying here again.

Nice hotel but poorly managed with awful customer service...

This hotel is modern with a great location but unfortunately we did not have a good experience and will not be returning. For starters, check-in was a mess, There was no one in the lobby so I knocked on the office door to reach someone and the staff member, saying nothing, walked to the desk and sarcastically placed a laminated card with a bell stuck on it (which I had not seen) in front of me in response! We had been sent an email for digital check-in on our day of arrival but when receiving our room key, discovered that the digital check-in had assigned us a first floor room facing another direction rather than the farm-view room we had reserved and paid a premium for. When I complained, another staff member proceeded to argue with me and tell me it was my fault, instead of take responsibility for the mistake. The staff member then told me that I was lucky that it was early enough for her to move me to a farm-view room (that I had already reserved and paid for) and to call one day ahead next time if I wanted a specific room! Fortunately, the room was clean, modern, and comfortable. The bottom of the bath tub however was concave and was not comfortable to stand in while having a shower. This might be a deal breaker for those not steady on their feet. Breakfast was terrible. The hot food was mostly overcooked and dried out, and the staff ominously stood by watching and waiting for the breakfast period to be over. We had to clean our table before sitting down for breakfast as the area was not maintained well. One morning, a staff member dropped a large quantity of plastic silverware on the floor and then, in front of guests, placed the silverware into the holder for customers to use. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we never felt welcome and rarely heard the staff greet or speak to guests at the hotel unless absolutely necessary. This hotel needs people who actually want to be in the hospitality business. We will not be back.
