Not worth the price and too many issues
I've never encountered the issues that occurred during my recent stay at this hotel. Reservation was messed up, charged for internet when I'm a Bonvoy member, the room had a strange smell and it was also noisy.
Safe and comfortable place to stay.
Close to shopping mall and lots of good restaurants. Clean comfortable rooms with good beds. Our room looked out on the street so we could watch all the activities on the Saturday night. Friendly helpful staff. We only stayed one night on our tour but would certainly consider going back.
Good place with nice surroudings
Stayed there4 a couple of weeks ago. Staff friendly, room pleasant and quite adequate, not huge. Had a king size bed. Restaurant was more than adequate. Several other good restaurants on the same block. Self parked in near by garage for reasonable fee
One of the better Marriott properties in Houston
I really enjoyed my business trip stays in Marriott Sugar Land. Noori Janjani, Carmencita Gito, and their staff always took care of me during my stay here. The property was well maintained and the executive lounge was well stock with snacks/hors d'oeuvre during happy hour time. Complimentary wine would have been nice option to avail in the executive lounge room. The Ambassador suite was very large and clean; a couple "real" glasses would be a nice add-on in lieu of plastic cups. Parking was free and the hotel was close to restaurants and F45 workout center. All and all, Marriott Sugar Land is a perfect stay for business trip.
Worst Experience - Gave away my room
Booked a room at Marriott Sugar Land (tier 4) for a conference, upon arriving no room was available, told to travel two miles to stay at SpringHill Suites (Tier 2). The manager at the check-in desk had the audacity to not even offer any consolation!!! When asked if I would be compensated, she said maybe we could offer rewards points. No promises, no commitment, just the comment "Maybe we could offer reward points". I am not holding my breath. I am a Hilton Honors Elite member, travel all over the world, on the road at least 50% of my time for work. I can not recall a situation when staying at a hotel which was handled this poorly. I only stayed at this hotel (at a much higher cost compared to the local Hilton hotels) so I could network with colleagues. So as I sit here alone in my SpringHill Suites room, I realize that I am paying to stay at the Marriott (I was not told otherwise by the manager at the Marriott)... It gets better, when I arrived at the SpringHill Suites, I literally waited 5 minutes for anyone to show up at the front desk, then the receptionist asked me for all my information. Why was this not sent over by management to make my check-in go as quickly as possible? Wait, there's even more, the woman at the Front Desk at the Spring Hill Suites said people are often sent to them from the Marriott because they overbook their rooms, these are her words not mine. I booked my room over 3 weeks in advance of my arrival and the reason I was given for no rooms being available is that heavy rains affected 7 rooms making them unusable. Things happen, I am an understanding person, however, expect fairness and to be treated professionally. I ask Zach R., business manager of Houston Marriott Sugar Land to explain why the last 7 people who booked a room were not told to travel 2 miles away to stay at the SpringHill Suites? That would be fair and logical. If a response is given, please offer a straight answer and not a boilerplate response.
