Excellent as usual
Due to first day opening things where very different of course but the staff where amazing as always. Everything went really well despite the difficulties. Will not hesitate in staying again once the pool is allowed to open again. Well done everyone for making us feel so welcome.
Reasonable value if you get a deal - food better than accommodation.
We stayed here to visit the two reenactors markets in the area and had planned to do some additional sightseeing but due to the global situation spent most of our time in the hotel. We got a deal through Secret Escapes which included breakfast and an evening meal each night. The hotel itself is lovely, we unfortunately were in a later added on building which though perfectly serviceable was not the luxury break we had thought we had booked (hindsight, should've read more reviews!). We had a couple of issues with other guests and the shower in our room which the staff dealt with in an excellent manner though the shower problem could've been avoided were the drains cleared and cleaned as a matter of course. Our only gripe was the checkout procedure was lengthly (turns out there was an express option were not offered) and this was further compounded by the only member of staff we saw not to be using hand gel regularly and then coughing into his hands and then handling my card - in these times unfortunately unforgivable!! We made use of the leisure facilities - but be warned the guest towelling dressing gowns have seen better days (ours no longer had belt loops and we kept loosing the belts!) and the slippers way more flimsy than other hotels' we've had before. Also if you are in the rooms in the annexe part of the hotel, it's a VERY LONG walk past the main dining room and lounge bar to get to the facilities and the entrance lobby for the leisure club members which you have to pass through is freezing! The best part, and the reason I give his hotel more than 2 stars, is the food. We had excellent service at breakfast and evening meal - in the hotels' Country Carvery restaurant not the main dining room but not an issue for us as this was clear when we booked. All self service (at the time) and all well stocked, some pastries not restocked in the morning but plenty of other items available. All the food was delicious and the nightly carvery hot and fresh with the addition of 'chef's specials' each night should you fancy something a little different to freshly carved meats. Staff all amazingly attentive and pleasant in the restaurant and the place was spotlessly clean. I would consider staying again if we got a deal and I needed to be in the area but might not elect it as a choice for a stand alone relaxing break.
Moor Hall Hotel & Spa
Recently stayed 1 night, midweek. Room comfortable. Had pleasant walk in the grounds adjacent to the golf course. Used the pool facilities, sauna & steam room. Ate in Country Kitchen-good food & service, at reasonable price for 3 courses. Relaxed afterwards in one of the lounges, with a drink whilst watching TV. Breakfast was served in the Country Kitchen & again was good. All the staff within the hotel & spa are a credit to the owners, & both my wife & I would love to return if in the area again.
First Class Stay for Meeting
Stayed for one night only for a meeting the next day. Check in staff very helpful and friendly. My son from Coventry came over to join me for Dinner in the Oak Room. Menu and quality of food excellent. Staff attentive. Very comfortable room spotlessly clean throughout. Excellent decor and furniture. Plenty of power points and ones at bedside also had usb port. Breakfast in carvery was very good and again staff friendly. Meeting room well equipped and sandwiches etc supplied were fresh and a good assortment . Wi fi worked well. Plenty of parking.Looking forward to my next stay in a couple of months time.
