Always enjoy staying here. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast menu. Close to all anything may need. Mayflower mall only a few km away. Get a room with harbour view, though no cruise ships in March. Has gym, pool, meeting rooms for all your needs. *May be time to start upgrades. Bathroom looks old. I noted in 2020 that the lamp plugs hardly hold your cord in place. Need new.

A fine spot to spend the night. Clean, comfortable, quiet.

I often refer to TripAdvisor reviews when planning a hotel stay. In this case we were kind of going last minute but I still checked out some reviews. Some of the reviews were not great. But they were what I like to call WRONG. I'm always a bit surprised that there are still several hotels in this area that only have double beds in their rooms - a no when two of your family members are 6'5 and 6'8. So this was one of the reasons I first looked to this property. The room was clean, the hotel was quiet (especially considering this was the last weekend of March Break). Sufficient towels and toiletries, comfortable beds, lots of pillows. Nothing missing. Two of my family neglected to pack toothbrushes, the front desk remedied this quickly for us. Staff were friendly. I visited the pool and hot tub the morning we were going to leave, those were fine too (although the towels needed restocking). Only real down side, parking is kind of crappy, especially considering they charge $7/day for it, but well we saw the price when we booked it and still went forward with booking. The first lot was crowded, and snowbanks blocked a few spaces. The lines dividing parking spaces definitely need a refresh, people were kind of parked randomly so taking up more space than they should have and limiting the parking even more. After checking in we learned there was another lot on the other side of the building, a bit further from the door. We parked there after venturing out for food since there was nothing available in the first lot. Overall, a fine spot to spend the night. We didn't visit the restaurant, but there are also dining options within walking distance. Grocery store is not far away. We booked through a third party, and when we tried to include a breakfast option it only offered breakfast for two instead of the three guests I'd specified, so we skipped that. Might have been third party's issue though.

Older hotel with a Perfect location

This was our second stay. I picked it based on view and price. It has an amazing harbour front view from the breakfast restaurant and rooms. Staff has all been very nice, professional and helpful Our room was older and could do with a refresh but it was very clean with a beautiful water view. I don't have any negatives. Just could do with a little refreshing but price was great. The gym and pool were closed for renovations, parking was free, breakfast was made to order and tasty. We will go back again.

Disgusting restaurant, low life clientele

Really really dirty property. For some reason this hotel feels like a ghetto fabulous motel 6. Parking situation is atrocious. Staff should be replaced with robots. Bathroom wasn't clean. Restaurant was disgusting.

Great Customer service

I never actually was able to stay at this hotel. We were really looking forward to visiting Sydney and take advantage of the great location that this Holiday Inn has. However, Hurricane Fiona had different ideas. I called the day before our stay and expressed my concerns to Meagan, about the idea of driving into a hurricane to stay in Sydney. She assured me that I could think about it and call the day of our stay and cancel our 2 day reservation if we wished. So I called the morning of our stay (September 23rd) about 9:30 and repeated my concern and my wishes to cancel. In a matter of 30 seconds all was done. The gentleman who answered (so sorry I didn't get his name) said "No problem " and we were finished. I am sure a great many people made that call with a great deal of anxiety as to what would happen, however there was no need to worry. Thank-you Holiday Inn Sydney! Your city is still on our bucket list. We will try again
