Needs a lot of work. There was no hot water in the room. The shower head did not spray and was ready to fall off. The doors did not close or lock. The key cards did not work. Had to get multiple cards. No wood for fireplace. Missing light bulbs. Etc

The place is falling apart. In one room the lights were not working. Another room we got move to the water in the shower was not working. There was toad in the toilet. The furniture was broken, Doors where failing apart. This was a vacation from hell. After moving into our third room we decided to cancel our reservation and we hope we get our reimbursement from from RCI.

For a nice place to relax, get off the grid. Rancho Santa Veronica is the best place to be..not a Ritz but very unique in its own way.place is beautiful, quiet and the Staff are awsome.
Nothing beats a hot shower,HOT meal, and a bed to sleep after a long day..

This hotel started a few decades ago as a bullfight haven. Although those days are long gone, you can still see the Ancient bullring a few miles away. As time progressed, so did this hotel. It has built additional wings. The older ones have a fireplace, and are similar to what you would expect from Baja in the sixties, a tip of the hat to what California was like in Spanish, missionary times. If you prefer a more modern-styled setting, just ask staff for another room as they are always willing to help. Another item to this point is they added a spa. Hotel staff were very accomodative to my friends by offering to bring a couple of masseuses and setting up appointments even though it was low season. They also have tennis courts, a pool, etc. Someone posted about slow restaurant service. Hey, this is Mexico. It forces me to relax and go with the flow. It difuses neurotic thoughts. I have the saying while in Mexico that you better not be hungry when ordering food. Hahaha. This is what a vacation is for, to forget hustle and bustle. Be aware the last few miles are on a dirt road, and the place is virtually disconnected. It is what keeps this place special. That is what a vacation is supposed to be for, to disconnect. This is a great place to park your car if you are heading south for a multiday ride, or want a “get away from it all” family retreat. Take it easy amigos.
Considering the location, there's nothing else like it

If you're going to stay somewhere in this area near Tecate, there's is really nothing else like this place. It's just a cool, big property, with a ton of rooms, the ability to get an actual massage in the spa, a bar/restaurant, etc. We've paid to park in their lot and ride dirt bikes for multiple days in Baja, then come back to the trucks. We've stayed here for the weekend just to get away from San Diego. But it's Baja...sometimes stuff doesn't work, and the pool is dirty because its cold as heck outside so who cares! Everyone is super nice. I'm not sure what other people were expecting, but having spent a ton of time in baja, this is one of the good spots to stay. I give it 5 stars, not because it's a 5 star hotel, but because it's a gem in its own way.
