They said they had heating in the rooms but what we found was just one little heater, not enough for the cold temperatures at night (as the location is located deep within the forest). We had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night as we coudn't get warm enough to sleep. Of course, there was no refund. Better to stay somewhere in Valle de Valle or Avandaro, much better places to stay there at same price.

The place is a nice quiet location with not much to do other than play golf. Rooms are very simple, nothing fancy. Food is good. Service is OK but not great. Temperature of water on shower was really hot at the beginning and 2 minutes later really cold. Thermostat wasn't working correctly. Although they offer wifi, signal was very weak and intermittent. One staff member stood out from the rest. Daniel who's a waiter at the big restaurant.
nice place to spend a few nights

the place is very nice, the facilities are clean and nice too. the cabins aren't big at all, just a full size bed and two twin beds, but you can ask for an extra twin bed if you need it. the cabins are very warm. there is are tennis court, inside pool, play zone for kids, horses, etc. the beds are not that bad, and the place is very clean. the food in the place was very expensive for what they offered but I'm sure there are other places close by you can go to. The nevado of toluca is like 45 min away from the place. pets are allowed as long as you pay an extra 350 pesos per night. the place wasn't cheap, we paid almost 3000 pesos a night, but I think it's worth it. the Internet is very limited, and slow but I guess if you go to a place such as this you won't need it.

The place has cabins very rudimentary but neat and compact. No TV, limited wifi, no cell phone signal. An ideal place to unplug from everything. Very beautiful and isolated place. Nice golf course. If coming from DF it takes about 2 hours to drive and last bit of the road is a bit rough.

My husband and I had a long weekend to spend in some place near Mexico city, so we browse and found Rancho Viejo. The advertisement mentioned something like luxury cabins in a natural paradise and what we found was not luxurious at all...cabins are average, no tv inside the cabins, the bathrooms smell terrible bad because thay had a problem with filters or I don't know what, so it was not nice. Breakfast is excellent! Mexican food very well served.
