Em todas as outras vezes que me hospedei neste hotel, tive uma boa experiencia salvo problemas pontuais em uma delas. Desta vez esta sendo uma experiencia horrivel. A infraestrutura do hotel e excelente, mas exta pecando no atendimento. A cordialidade nao e um ponto forte, mas isto ja e de ser esperar. Os problemas comecam com pequenos detalhes da habitacao e da terrivel conexao a internet e vao ate o restaurante, onde o servico decaiu bastante, desde o cafe da manha, ate o jantar, que mesmo se encerrando as 20:30, nao espere que seja atendido as 20h, porque nao fazem mais nada(fecham a cozinha). O "pequeno jantar", que na carta esta entre 20:30 e 21:30 ja nao pode mais ser pedido, nem para o quarto, por volta das 21h.

We stayed a week at this hotel and it wasn't enough for my daughter. She really wanted to stay the entire summer holidays in the Happy Club and in the swimming pool. If she was happy, I was happy. I am already planning a new trip to Engel. And by the way, the food is excellent!

Very nice clean and cosy hotel with a family based mind an absolute plus . we went there for a short stay between Christmas and New Year and it was magnificent! we will be going back without any doubt

Good kids friendly hotel with family apartments

We stayed in the hotel Engel with two children in March. We had a very warm welcome. We arrived early and our family was not ready yet, so we were offered to have lunch in their restaurant (free for children due to their Kinder All-Inclusive program), and when we were guided to our room after the lunch our luggage was already there. The family apartment has a separate kid's room with a bunk bed, a big bedroom with parents bed and one additional bed in the niche in the wall. There was also a small living room with a kitchen corner and a table for 4 persons. We liked the room a lot, the only inconvenience was that a WC and a bathroom are in the different locations (WC is near the entrance and a bathroom is in the parents bedroom). The hotel has two play rooms and an outside playground with two trampolines, a swimming pool and restaurant. The quality of the food in quite good, children have free drinks and a play corner with lego bricks, pencils and paper. The hotel guests must park their car on the furthest parking (5 min walking downhill), but you can always parks your car for a few minutes near the hotel to pick up your family or load you luggage. The location is very good if you want to attend a splash park Badeparadies (30 min by car) and a Steinwasserpark (5 min by car). You also get a free Schwarzwald card with discounts and free entrances in different attractions in the area. You can return the cards by post to get your caution (10 euro per card) back. We have spend a very good Easter weekend in the hotel and can definitely recommend it to the other guests.

Ideal for vacation with family

We went here for a short two nights stay with three small children. The place is overall very clean. They provide all you need for a comfortable stay with small children, which is a great plus. The large play-room is also wonderful as well as the small outdoor playground. Breakfast was very nice with some local touches. What really sets this place apart from most other family friendly places is that the whole place and also the staff is there to make sure you can relax. Note that the indoor pool is only for larger kids. The half-board dinner is sometimes just OK, sometimes really good. We would definitely come back.
