Great hotel, with good access to trains.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in April 2018, I landed in Haneda Airport, took the monorail to Hamamatsucho station (cover on the JR pass), from there, it's a 10-15 minutes walk to the hotel. I was staying on the 9th floor. The bedroom was reasonably sized for one person, with enough space for me to stow both of my cases under the desk. The kitchen area was small, but offered basic functionality, a small fridge/freezer, a microwave and a kettle. The bathroom was decently sized, with the bath itself being a bit short, but makes up for it by being a bit deeper. The toilet room was tiny, with a sink built into the toilet, the toilet itself has various buttons on a console to the side of it, all marked in Japanese; infact most of the amenties, such as the air conditioning, only have operation instructions in Japanese, but a couple of Internet searches and some experimentation can help you get the hang of the controls. The balcony was decent, overlooking the quiet roads around the front of the hotel, from the higher floors, you can get a glimpse of Tokyo Tower over some of the surrounding buildings. The cleanliness wasn't as thorough as it should have been, there was dust under the bed, and the plug to the bath was a bit dirty underneath it. The hotel staff were very polite and do speak some English, but not fluently, so patience, and sometimes a bit of gesturing were necessary for communication. The hotel is located quite close to the train tracks, and passing trains can be heard from within the room, although I didn't consider it loud enough to be a nuasance. The hotel also has a communal basement area, with guests can use washing machines (300 yen for a wash cycle, 100 yen for 30 mins drying), vending machines and borrow a book from the hotel's manga library (all in Japanese). However, there wasn't a place for me to buy washing powder in the hotel, so I had to go to a convinience store to buy a box. The hotel's location is probably the best part, it's within walking distance of many convinience stores, restaurants and tokyo tower. It's also close to 3 train stations, providing easy transport links to popular parts of Tokyo. There's Daimon, for access to Asakusa and Oedo, good for access to Tsukiji and Tokyo Skytree; Hinode, for access to Yurikamome line for access to Daiba; and Hamamatsucho, for Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport, and JR's Keihin-Tohoku and Yamanote lines.

I've been using this hotel many years and always satisfied with rooms and staffs. Easy to access train station. Many good restaurants in walking Room has microwave to warm the food from outside. Separate bathroom and toilet is also advantage in Kuretake Inn.

Decent Hotel

This hotel was previously known as Smile Hotel and Serviced Apartments Hamamatsucho. I've made a reservation directly from a Japanese website which offered cheap hotel rates as compared to the English version websites. The rate was pretty cheap for a hotel which is 10 mins walk from JR Hamamatsucho station. It was a long walk from the station and no doubt we survived with dragging our luggages. The staff were courteous, pleasant and accomodating. However, the room is decent for a couple and there were limited space for luggages. Bathroom is tiny but no complaints as it's Japan, you get what you pay for! There is a convenience store nearby, approximately 2-3 mins walk. It's pretty quiet at night, but no doubt it's safe! I would definitely recommend others to stay here.
