Less than 3 star
My husband and I stayed in this hotel for one night after we completed the G Adventure Japan Express to get to know Tokyo better . Location is good and bad, good as walking few minutes from west exit JR station, bad as tucked in a dingy ally very hard to find, even by the taxi driver. Very run down and old. Tiny reception. Very small room with double bed, shower and toilet are extremely small, but have large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Kettle with no coffee or black tea (bring your tea bags with you), few coffee in reception, there is no lobby. 2 yakutas, slippers, enough towels. Free WiFi. I would rather pay more to get a more decent hotel.
Run-of-the-mill 3-star hotel
This place is much expensive for a budget hotel. The hotel is incomplete with basic necessities like cotton buds, power outlets, lotion & more. Room is very small that you can barely move inside. Location is the only positive plus.
Cheap and nice
Stayed in here for one week at the end of August and the price was really cheap. It wasn't a luxury hotel but for the price paid it was a really decent place. Room wasn't huge but there was enough room for one person with two suitcases. It was also quite clean and was cleaned every day. Location was really great, just a short walk from west exit of Ikebukuro station. Breakfast was ok, just some toast, yoghurt and salad.
Quiet clean hotel
A typical hotel with small rooms, but nonetheless a good experience. The good: Hotel service was pretty good- friendly and helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast was okay, the toast was very nice although the cafeteria area was small and can get pretty packed. The average: Hotel lifts were pretty small and old. Rooms were small but acceptable for the price. Location was a bit out of the way in a small alleyway. Seedy clubs and pubs around which was pretty unnerving walking back at night. Surprisingly no noise and other disturbances which kept me up at night so good job on that!
Star of Ikebukuro
Very good hotel in the centre of Ikebukuro ! Near the train station, one of the biggest stations of Tokyo. It takes 3 minutes by walk for the exit C6 Near the restaurants and shops, it is in a good positions if you want to stay in this big city! With Sub way you can go to Shinjuku and Shibuya in a few minutes , the others important stops ( Tokyo ,Ginza, Ueno)and take the Narita express for the Airport. The staff is very gentle and kind The hotel is very clean and comfortable The breakfast wasnt bad , bread, salade, yogurt and tea coffee I recommend it
