Needs some upgrades.....
This Embassy Suites needs some love and updating.. You would expect more from this chain. Disappointed with this stay. Where do I begin....mold and rust in the shower, peeling wall paper, furniture is beat and worn, dust on bases of chairs, refrigerator had ice build up inside so couldn’t use it, and seems as though the air had a difficult time cooling the room. Even noted a pill (not sure what kind) on the bathroom floor from a previous guest. You could also tell that multiple surfaces had not been wiped down. This speaks volumes as to how serious they are taking the cleaning issues at this point in time. Would not stay here again.
Needs some major updatiking
Yes, it is pretty and looks fancy on the outside, but if you get put anywhere but the 1st or 2nd floor, bring a fan or a portable air conditioner. The room never seems to actually cool off and when you exit the elevator you get hit with hot air. And don't try and speak to the maintenance man, he is super grouchy and speaks so bad about the guests. The rooms are nice and big, but the outlets are so old that when you plug anything in they fall right out. The remote is so old that you really have to press hard on the buttons to actually get the tv to turn on, change the volume or change channels. And by the time you actually get the channels to change it's not even worth watching tv, especially in a hot room. The bed skirts look so old and dingy, the toilet leaks and gets stuck every time you flush! I was really looking forward to spending the weekend relaxing and watching some tv but that clearly did not happen. I would honestly not book this hotel unless it is your only option left, and even with that I think I would rather sleep in my vehicle.
The best customer service imaginable!
I booked this hotel to share with my elderly (84) yr old dad during the Tulsa Home Show. My dad is a big breakfast kind of guy and I knew he would love their breakfast buffet. He had recently had a mild stroke so I upgraded to early check-in knowing it was a possibility that it wasn't available. He should have been home resting instead of planning to man a booth at the show - but- that's a whole nother story. By 11 he was worn out. I was in the area, so ran by the hotel to check on the early check-in. YES! his room was ready. They were expecting us. (Even though there were 2 busses out front of LOTs of kids leaving and many rooms needing cleaned) Great 1st night at the hotel. That morning at 7 am my dad had another mild stroke. The hotel provided us a wheelchair to get him to the car to go to the hospital. They provided extra room keys so my many sisters could come and go as needed in between being at the hospital. To top that off - I get a text in the afternoon checking to see that all was ok and asking that we let them know if they could be of help. There are a lot of good hotels to choose from out there. The customer service here went above and beyond what they were required to do in my families stressful situation. They made customers for life. To top it off - breakfast was as expected - wonderful and fresh. The beds were soft and comfortable. The rooms were clean. In spite of the thunderstorm rampaging the area, I slept like a babe in moms arms.
Guest Services are Above and Beyond
I travel to Tulsa several times a year to spend weekends with my daughter. I have stayed in several hotels in the area with varying degrees of quality. Embassy Suites has been the best experience of all the hotels that we have used for our visits. The cleanliness is remarkably good. The hotel and rooms are up to date. The restaurant and complimentary evening reception are a wonderful and appreciated touch. The most compelling reason for such a shining review is that Guest Services is among the best that I have experienced in my many travels, not just in Tulsa, but across the nation. From check-in at Front Desk, to Housekeeping, to Food Service staff, and to check out- everyone was incredible kind, courteous, respectful, and extremely accommodating in their helpfulness. I even left an item in my room, and it took me a week to realize that I left it at the hotel. Upon contacting the hotel, I was immediately informed that they had it and would be able to send it to me. This shows a level of integrity that is not found in other hotels. This is in contrast to another Tulsa hotel that strung me along, kept the item, and then ignored my calls and messages to return my calls. I would recommend Embassy Suites Tulsa every time for area visits. I know that this hotel will be our base of stays going forward for our monthly visits!
Indoor pool and big rooms
We stayed in the two bedroom king suite. It was nice to be able to put the kids to bed and not feel like we had to go to bed with them. The separate rooms were great. The pool and hot tub were the main reason for our stay and were great as well.
