Traveled during covid19. Rooms were clean, they followed cdc guidelines throughout the hotel. The hotel was didn’t seemed to be over occupied. Guests weren’t loud or noisy. Good location by food and shops. Front desk clerk helped me get my loyalty points and extended my stay with no problem!
Great place to stay while awaiting move into our new home
My family and our two small dogs recently relocated to the area from Arizona and needed a place to stay while waiting to get into our new house. As Wyndham Rewards members, we chose to stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Detroit Utica. We could not have made a better choice! The hotel is in a quiet area with restaurants within walking distance, the best part of our decision was the hotel & more importantly it’s staff! The hotel is very clean, quiet & comfortable. All staff that we’ve had contact with have been exceptional! We had only anticipated staying a week or so before getting into our house, due to issues beyond our control, we had to extend our stay for several more weeks. Management was very kind and upgraded us into a larger king room suite so that we’d have a little more breathing room. That kind gesture was unexpected and very much appreciated!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.
Lack of amenities
When I booked the room they told me they would have a packaged breakfast. There was none. They need to have coffee or tea offered longer than 2 pm. With the Covid-19 I can understand why there was no hot breakfast. They should of have a substitute
Was lied to
When I made reservation was told the room had 2 queen beds and a recliner chair which gave enough room to sleep my grandkids and myself. Needless to say they were only double beds and no recliner. That left me (at 63) sleeping on the floor. Got NO help from staff on duty. Never again will I stay at one of these hotels. NEVER
Clean; convenient place to stay; nice area
We wanted a place close to Selfridge boat launch and this was. It was conveniently located close to all that we needed during our stay. The staff was nice and friendly. There were a few changes due to Covid-19 but nothing we couldn't handle. The pool was closed, there was no breakfast and there wasn't daily maid service but none of that was a problem. The rooms were clean and looked updated. The bed was comfortable although it was a tad firmer than we are used to. We were within walking distance to a few restaurants so that made it even more convenient. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
