We had vouchers to spend the night at a Fletcher hotel. My previous experiences with the hotel chain were good, however the Burghoeve in Valkenburg didn't meet my expectations. Our arrival started of well. It is only a 15 minute walk from the city centre/train station to the hotel and the outside looks nice. The lady at the front desk was enthusiastic, friendly and made us feel welcome. She told us that we booked a standard room but that she gave us a slight upgrade, as the hotel wasn't fully booked that night. So kind! We were a bit disappointed to see that the room and bathroom were still quite small, and more importantly, massively outdated. The bed and shower were horrible. We left on a bit of a high point though because the breakfast was very nice. It is exactly like the breakfast at other Fletcher hotels, meaning that there are many bread rolls and toppings to choose from. In short, the hotel definitely has some potential but it needs to be updated asap.

Authentic hotel in Valkenburg (South Limburg)

A simple authentic hotel in Valkenburg, Very small reception. Nice launch place. We had a small attic room, but okay for just one night. Everything looks old also the bathroom. The bed was a little bit hard. The staircase was old and cracking. The elevator was very small & also old.

Nice place to stay and get around in the south of Limburg

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. Although the decor is outdated and could use a little updating, it served its purpose. The staff was nice and helpfull. And the beds were clean. Fresh towels also. We stayed here in a warm period, but the room was cool. We were luckey enough to stay in a room in the anex near by, in a room on groundfloor level. We made the reservation via a voucher, which did not include breakfast, so I can not comment on that. We never noticed the staff treating us differently because of the no-breakfast deal, so that is nice. If we ever decide to go back to Valkenburg, we will book a room here.

The Best Hamburger in Holland

We spent the night at this hotel, which was ok, but the food in the restaurant was excellent. The special that night was Hamburger and chips, and it was out standing, such simple fare but excellent taste. We would stay there again.

Bridal suite?

For a short stay in the south of Limburg we needed a hotel that was close to the starting point of the 'Pieterpad'. This hotel couldn't be nicer located! We chose for the bridal suite because a bit of luxury isn't wrong after a long walk but it was way too expensive for what we got. Basically a large room with a large moldy bathroom. You really don't want to sit in a jacuzzi if it doesn't feel clean! Breakfast was ok and so was the staff so an average
