Delicious meal and a very entertaining quiz night. Even tried my luck at bingo.. The landlord and his wife are first class Can't fault the staff. Venue is amazing. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Highly recommends. Would definitely return.

From the moment I saw the filthy stair carpet, I knew what to expect the room to be like. I feel like I would rather have thrown my £80 in the bin. The room was dirty. There were cobwebs, cracked secondary glazing, the toilet was mucky. There was a partial used toilet roll sat on the cistern and no spare one. The windows were mucky and the blind in the bathroom was broken. We really didn’t want to stay but our money had already been taken. The bathroom was big but didn’t look like the floor had been cleaned for weeks. I emailed and asked if we could check in earlier than 3:00 as we had a brewery tour booked and was told we could collect the keys but they would still be cleaning the room. I’m not sure which room they were cleaning, as it certainly wasn’t that one. When I asked about breakfast, I was told that breakfast is not included at present and also the free Batemans which you will get treated to is currently not included. (Sadly I did not see the bit about breakfast on the website but I did see the bit about the drink). This was a very disappointing stay after our lovely Batemans Brewery Tour, especially as The Woolpack is owned by the brewery. When we woke up the next morning, there were three wasps in the bathroom, which had obviously come in through the open window. Maybe there is a nest outside? I also heard something running in the loft at 4:00am, which sounded like it had 4 legs. All in all I wasn’t happy with my stay. We stayed in room 6.

Called in on the off chance today. Lovely welcome and it was busy, which was nice to see. We ordered: Ham,Egg and Chips and 10 oz Gammon and Chips. Make sure you are hungry as they are massive portions. All freshly cooked and nice and hot when it arrived. We would call in here again.

Poor customer service skills , no face masks worn by the staff when government guide lines say they must unless exempt , thin walls so you could hear everything and the place smelt like weed and hardly any social distancing

Disappointing really.....love staying in villages normally but this one didn't seem to have a lot to offer....caught the bus into town and that was good.....had a meal here (not a lot of choice of eateroes) and four of us had a meal...opted for the steak and to be honest it was so tasteless I got bored eating it so I left it.....don't usually leave bad reviews but I wish I had read one like this then I would have had a meal while in town
