Clean and Efficient . . . thin fold out couch.

Nice suite with two queen beds and and fold out couch. The rooms and the facility were clean. The exercise room was clean and had some great equipment. The breakfast was sufficient (no waffles however). The only negative is that the mattress on the fold out bed was very thin. I could feel the springs of the bed and it sagged considerably.

our room was fantastic, but after we got home, my wife remembered she left a recent purchase of 3 pairs of pants were left in the room. so i called Monday morning and let them know we left these in the room, this person I talked to said she would talk to the head housekeeper about this and get back to me that afternoon, but its been over a week and I still haven't received the call back! Very disappointed ion the handling of this matter,

Great hotel to stay at if you are passing through Des Moines on I-35 or just in the area. The rooms were nice and accessible and service was good. It is located near a few restaurants and stores in case you need something.
The location is the only positive here; otherwise, this hotel needs a serious renovation

My wife and I recently stayed one night at this hotel in a king room. We chose the hotel because of its location and based upon our past positive experiences with Homewood Suites hotels. The exterior of the hotel looks good. But our room was deficient in a number of respects, most of which seem to reflect a lack of maintenance. For example, the thermostat did not work properly, and the overhead fan did not work at all. The television, which was attached to the wall, looked like it had been damaged and, as a result, the screen literally faced downward towards the floor, which made it difficult to watch. In the kitchen, there was only one spoon of any size. In the bathroom, a tile had fallen off of the wall onto the floor and was laying on the floor. Perhaps the worst part of all was the bedding. It was old, thin, discolored, and did not smell fresh. All in all, our room seemed tired and in desperate need of maintenance. For these reasons, I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a hotel.
Rude guests poor management

To start there is a problem with the hotel industry where guests take luggage carts to their room and keep them there. We are seniors and I am recovering from knee replacement surgery. Yet in the morning of our departure there were no carts available. The morning manager admitted they had a problem with this issue. If that is the case, management needs to do something about it. Second a hotel that advertises a kitchen, then they should have kitchen utensils. Our room was missing numerous items including forks. I sent an email to the manager an she'd blamed it all on the pandemic Unfortunately those self centered guests will never change, but management can
