3 nights stay
Good location on the edge of Ubeda old town. Nice room looking out to the olive groves, breakfast typical spainish, it was OK. Everyone friendly even though our spanish is not so good. No parking but easily enough to find a spot within walking distance. (You would not want to drive in Ubeda's narrow streets).
Beware lack of any recent reviews
Where do I start? It is hard to rate the service when basically there was none!. We arrived to a locked door and a sign saying to ring a number. We were given a code which opened the door after 4 attempts. We were then told that a lady would arrive to check us in, 15 minutes later she wandered in, no apology and gave us our keys. The introduction to the hotel involved her standing the hall, pointing to the lift, then the stairs to the breakfast room and then in the general direction of our room (upstairs). That was it! I admit this was out of the main season but are they open or not??? Only 2 other guests in the hotel so we were not offered dinner and went out into the town. On our return there was no staff present and so we let ourselves in and went to bed. The bedroom light blew a fuse and with no body there we just put up with no power overnight which meant it was pretty chilly!! Breakfast was all laid out for us in the dining room but again no staff in evidence. One towel in our room was threadbare in places and the other was grubby. Bedding looked pretty suspect. There was a fridge in the corner of the room with nothing in it except a musty smell. What a shame, the hotel has a fantastic location and could be very beautiful with a little more attention. Breakfast was ok but basically there was NO service at all.
Charming character Hotel, well located with fabulous views.
We stayed here for 3 nights during the Christmas celebrations and the location in the old town was perfect. We were able to walk to visit the historic sights and, in the evening, we went to see the Three Kings Parade which was wonderful. The room and bathroom were warm, comfortable, spacious and clean, it overlooked the gorgeous countryside. The delicious buffet breakfast set out in a characterful room was ample and varied. There was an excellent choice of fresh fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, bread, cakes, cheeses, hams and jams etc. We did not take lunch or dinner here but the menu choices were wide ranging.
great location and lovely hotel
We wanted a stopover on our way back to Madrid and I chose this place in Ubeda which was a great find. The hotel is a lovely boutique hotel with spacious rooms. The breakfast is good but I wish they served it in the patio outside and not in the restaurant downstairs. There is a parking place in front of the hotel and the wifi worked great.
We stayed here as a base to explore Cazorla and Magina national parks and the historic centres of Ubeda and Baeza. Lovely old building just within the old town. Quiet at night. Our room was on the back overlooking the valley. Those on the front might be noisier. Arrived by bus and no car. Parking next to the hotel would be challenging but would be possible nearby.
