Disappointed from the start

Reviewed 23 october, 2019

Was disappointed from the point of reservation, canceled my stay. Rude reservation staff on the phone, when I asked to clarify a reservation made on Booking.com (the offer in English was misleading to begin with and they told me they don’t know and can’t refer to the English site therefore I had to deal with it myself). They finally offered to call me back to clarify, but they never did. What more was the tone and attitude of the reservation agent was rude, and I was speaking in Japanese too. Canceled and booked a different accommodation who catered much better.

Nice breakfast

Reviewed 27 september, 2019

Staying a night before my relative’s wedding. There is a lovely lounge and bar with a biliardo table, a stove and a smoking room closed to the reception. They have public bath for men and women, you can book Ganbanyoku for 40-50 minutes(you pay extra), the room is pretty big and clean. Breakfast is very good!!

Nice little hotel

Reviewed 1 august, 2018

Nice little hotel in the Karuizawa area, a little bit outdated, looks like a good hotel for weddings, good breakfast and near all the major attractions in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Get the breakfast early as it can get quite busy at 8am

A pleasant stay at a sincere hotel

Reviewed 7 september, 2017

My child was allergic to egg. The hotel prepared eggless bread for her dinner and breakfast. Thanks a lot for going the extra miles! Room was western style, very spacious room. There was a nice communal bath looking out into lush greenery to stretch out after a long day of sightseeing too. Some board games can be brought back from the coffee lounge to the room to keep you occupied at night. Location-wise, it was a good 10 min shuttle bus ride from Naka-Karuizawa station. Hotel shuttle was available only from Naka-Karuizawa and at certain fixed timing (reservation required). On our first day, we arrived way ahead of the shuttle timing so we kept our luggage at lockers in the Karuizawa train station while doing some sightseeing. After sightseeing, we took the Shinano line to Naka-Karuizawa for the hotel shuttle. Note that JR pass is not valid for Shinano line. During check-in, they fixed the shuttle timing for other days of our stay (this can always be changed at the front desk later).

New management and nice experience!

Reviewed 5 march, 2017

It looks like this hotel had a change of management and they did a pretty good job. The rooms we got was big for a Japanese hotel (two double beds with a sofa). And they offer shuttle services to and from the Karuizawa outlet/ski resort. We also enjoyed the breakfast that came with our plan (posted pictures here). Nice and friendly staff too. Too bad we only stayed one night.
